2023 Books

Dont write these through out the year like i shoudl so they are fresh – but hey in this season of very busy life… im just thankful i write any of it down.

Hard is Not the Same as bad – listened to this one because i really enjoy the author reading. great book very much enjoyed and agreed with so many things about how the hard is not bad. def details her life a lot and it is interesting even though i would not agree to live her same lifestyle tho both Christians.

Being Elisabeth Elliott – Started a little slow which is to be expected when yo uare living normal life in the states and not in south America – but it did get very good and captivating and interesting. Sad about her second husband and wish it would have gone into more detail about her life with the 3rd husband but i believe he burned all the books. Wish it would have been more about the end of her life too – very good like the first.

Happy Place – super fun read, like to throw a lighthearted fiction book in every once in a while and a fun friendship but also romantic relationship in it

All My Knotted Up Life -kept seeing it recommended on the internet and in emails so thought i had to see what it is all about. I didn’t even know Beth Moore or any “controversy” before i started listening to it. Her telling her story and her accent was absolutely delightful and i was so captivated the whole time. she was an incredible writer and people’s memory just astounds me! Loved it

The Time Saving Mom – I enjoyed this book and the way that Crystal lives her life. I have def adopted the prayer ” please make the sleep i do get be enough to refresh me”

Memory Making Mom – loved listening to this book and all the good ideas. im just wired to be a mom that wants to make memories. like that it went through the months and will def listen to again.

Create Anyway – I have followed Ashlee online for YEARS and enjoy her work even if we dont have the same creative gifts outlook. Fabulous book. Creating anyway is def my matra on life and it makes me a better mom and love including my kids on it

28 Summers – Never read a book quite like it and really enjoyed for a fiction one. obviously my heart was sad they weren’t just together the whole time and

Famous at Home – I enjoyed and he did a good job writing. i still always prefer these type of books from the mothers perspective but agree on all the content

I Guess I haven’t learned that yet – i thought this was written by another person i wanted to read their work, have read her type of books in the past and do enjoy the short story part. was good just not my favorite author.

Waiting Here for You – great advent book. learned a lot about hymns and really sunk in the words of them.

Ten Words to Live By – every book by Jen Wilkin is SO good and this was incredble as always. nice to get a different perspective on the 10 commandments and i thought i learned a lot abotu the first 4 which i had not thought of before.

Where I come from – had this on my list from someone recommending. i love stories of people growing up in the south and their way of life. a drier humor and good but not as capturing as others have been. maybe would have liked more if i listened and didnt read.
