2024 Goals Round Up

Personal

  • 100 workouts complete – Have changes this to at least 1 mile a day and got over 170** done this year. so much more doable in this season of life for me
  • 20 books read – Read 14 **
  • devotions – more learning about the background & history around passages – The Bible Recap (and the LORD!) Have changed my life on reading my bible. I crave it. I understand it so much more, and hopefully I am applying God’s word to my life better. Thank you Lord for transforming year!
  • saving money for the shop – Kyle starting a business has changed this goal yet also accelerated it with the extra income
  • garden consistency – the consistency was not there. i wish it had been. we dealt with a lot of deer eating broccoli and beans no matter what tricks we did. hoping a smaller garden and new tricks for the next year will fix this

Creative

  • 12 macaron project – made 10** new macarons!
  • business plan for M to M – have let this dream go. with Baby #5 and not wanting to turn a hobby into a business happy with this decision.
  • canning/saving MORE – it was not a good year for canning with zero beans and being very sick during grape juice time, BUT the saving more I do believe we have started! I started making all our own beef and chicken broth in a more attainable way, along with diced tomatoes so i don’t have to buy those anymore. we got 35 bags of corn and 35 bags of applesauce put away. Made my own tallow from beef fat and it is saving our butter/oil budget. Canned raspberry lemonade that we are obsessed with and will be doing way more of that next year. Starting to really save any scrap and cooking from scratch MORE. Making a ton more bread and those type of products from scratch. We’ve always ate at home well but i am finding a lot of joy in it this year!
  • kids involved in creative things – my kids were beyond creative this year! always coloring/drawing, wanting to paint, cutting things and taping them together, etc. i wouldn’t say our creatives were integrated but we def were doing it alongside each other!
  • keep upstairs living room clean – every night – this probably didn’t happen but i would say it is one of the places i can count on to be the most clean of our house.

Family

  • more playing games together – we do a pretty good job of this during winter months
  • more nights outside playing sports – i want to make this a super big priority in 2025 of me and kyle focusing on helping the kids in sports
  • boys swimming and riding bikes – Wyatt is swimming GREAT by himself, Duke has made huge strides, Betsey LOVED her swimming lessons and BOTH boys are biking on two wheels monsters who get new bigger bikes for Christmas
  • trip to Florida – the best trip. the kids still talk about it constantly and want to go back. i am so glad we made the time to do this with them.
  • kids memorizing Christan songs/scripture – between the help of school and the boys getting older, they know so many Christian songs and do great on their memory verses!
