Eating – the last month of pregnancy I always hate cooking because it is so much work and I am so tired. But in February/march I did get a few new recipes made:

  • French toast casserole
  • lactation cookies
  • sourdough cinnamon roll focaccia
  • uncrustables

But mainly the real MVP under eating, has to go to our village feeding us and taking care of us so well. we didn’t cook for a week and even the first 3 weeks were showered with food. Everyone knows by the 5th kid… that’s all you need to take a huge burden off the mom! I was beyond impressed with people going outside of the box this time. If you need to bring a new family food soon – here are some ideas

  • breakfast food – my brother brought over brunch a day that had plenty with leftovers for the next few days. egg casserole, cinnamon rolls from my favorite cinnamon roll shop, protein shakes, yogurts, fresh fruit, OJ, and milk
  • packaged snacks – my SIL brought tons of pacakeged snacks which was such a treat for the kids since they don’t usually get those. it made my life so easy when they are asking and was great to be able to take on the go for all the appts the first few weeks. it made my life easy!
  • healthy snacks – my one friend knew you just want to snack and snack after having a baby while breastfeeding. so she brought a container for fresh prepared fruit, fresh prepared
  • hot meal – often in the past we just get freezer meals which we LOVE, but we were so thankful one night the first week my sister brought the hot meal ready to EAT
  • crockpot – our neighbors and carpoolers told me to have my crockpot ready and in the morning when she picked up my kids she brought the roast and cut up veggies – was so easy for her and for me and was an awesome healthy meal!
  • spoiling the kids – Katie really went above and beyond that week the baby came and she took over carpool, treated the boys to McDonalds on a day they got out at noon
  • money for takeout – we don’t really ever go out to eat – so when my sister who lives over an hour away venmoed money for takeout, we were pumped! We got to order food from our fave resturant in town and me and Kyle both agreed how much of a treat it was!
  • freezer meals – honestly when you have a family big like ours a stocked freezer of meals was such a blessing. we are so thankful to have those to use when it just doesn’t work for me to cook. I was beyond impressed too have everyone gave us huge helpings.
  • drinks – a few friends sent some special poppii and other drinks that we don’t usually buy but man anything to feel a little special when you are giving so much of yourself to kids in the days after a new baby

Practicing :

Right now we are in survival mode and not practicing much . i feel like what i am practicing in the month of March was just giving children some individual time and my full attention whenever i could because you could tell they really needed it and it was something i wanted to make a priority during this transition period

Obsessing:

We are STRIGHT OBESSING over Boone Stephen. he’s such a handsome little baby and we are all SO in love and fighting over who gets to hold him next. I am obsessing over all the visitors and just getting to see and talk to a lot of our people and how special this season of life is.

Recommending:

Man this month I am recommending all my Talulah sets of clothes that i bought. ive got a long sleeve set and a Novi set and they are what I am LIVING in this postpartum to feel a little matchy match and put together.

Treating:

HA treating myself to all the treats. Our house has been full of them because of the baby and the food and starving breastfeeding Meredith has been loving all of it! I know this is just a small season and will reign it back in soon. but between those treats and easter candy…. it is TREAT YOSELF MONTH
